Welcome to Tuesday’s Tips from SewVeryEasy,
my name is Laura. A couple of weeks back I shared a couple of apps that I enjoy using. One was about needles and one was a quilting calculator. Well, Christine and Ornella have shared an app with me that I would like to share with you. This is definitely more than just an app. This app is all about sewing machine feet. It’s an app you can download onto your tablets or your phone. This app is from MadamSew. It’s all about sewing machine feet. When you open up the menu, the top gives you lots of information. It’s a user guide on how to attach feet. In the bottom you can push the other button. It’s going to show you 32 feet that are common and not-so-common for a sewing machine. You’re going to be able to just scroll up and down this app until you find the foot that you want to learn about. You can also search for it at the top. When you click on it, it gives you a description all about the foot. You can also get a video about that foot. Once that video is downloaded, you’re going to be able to play that video and it gives you a little overview of the foot and how to use the foot. The app is great for knowing what feet to use for what, but there’s more than just this app that goes with MadamSew. You can buy the feet to go with the app. You can get the feet separately or in sets. Here’s an example of one of the sets with 32 different feet. It gives a list of the feet. What’s great about it is it comes with a video DVD and a great storage case. These are really easy to open. Just squeeze this container a little bit and then pop those open. For those who don’t want to use the app, each of the feet has a little paragraph all about them. You have 32 feet in a beautiful storage case. It comes with a bonus snap adapter so all of these feet snap on. There’s a little bar that snaps these right onto your machine. When you’re done with those, they go right back into this nice storage container. All of the feet are numbered. Those numbers correspond with the booklet. The back also has the numbers with the matching feet. Those numbers also match the app. You can get a set of 32 feet or individual feet. You can even buy this case empty if you want to put your own feet in. You could also get even more feet. You can get one that’s called The Big 5. Same idea: Nice storage container, DVD, booklet to go with all of the feet, and when you open up this case, all of these feet are nicely stored inside of this foam so they stay in there and they’re not moving all over the place. This one also comes with an extra snap-on adapter that you’re going to be able to put right here. If you need a different adapter you’re going to be able to put your adapter right here. They do have adapters that you can buy for your machine. It’s really nice to be able to have our feet all stored in a safe container. Just like the other case, the feet numbers are on the back. Snap feet are very common in sewing machines. It is the bottom of the foot that changes, not the part that attaches to the machine. Your machine may already come with feet that snap on. You will find a little bar on the feet. That bar snaps into this little adapter so you have that foot on as you need it. To release it, you usually have a little button on the back and that’s going to pop off the feet. You can change a snap-on foot to any other snap-on foot. A lot of machines do already come with snap-on feet. If not, you just need to get the right adapter to go with your machine. When we’re done with that foot we can put it right back and keep it handy. If we’re not needing the adapter we can keep the adapter safe. So not only can we get an app for our tablets and our phones, we get videos all about those feet. If we want we can get hard copies of videos, hard copies of booklets all about the extra feet and the specialty feet and the feet to go with all of the above. This is definitely more than just an app. I’ll put a link in the description so you can check them out, and thank you for sharing with me the apps that you like to use in your sewing room. Thank you for joining me today on Tuesdays Tips. Feel free to subscribe and, as always, come on back. Let’s see what we’re talking about next time
in the sewing room. Bye for now!
