It all started with a concept of motion. An athlete trains 1000 of times the same movement the same line over and over again to get as close to perfection as possible. The important thing about Freelite get the garment out of the way of a perfect ski line and just let it do its job in terms of weather protection and keeping you warm. A good Design to me is something beautiful that captures your feelings, something that makes you feel better, it gets you a better self-confidence and you also perform better. For Freelite we got inspired by the reptile second skin and we wanted the user to have the same feeling that you put a jacket on and you become one with the jacket. Our dream was always to create an extremely lightweight and stretchable product. With Freelite we tried to craft a new product which sets new standards on the market in terms of performance, lightweight and stretchability. We created a product which didn’t exist on the market. Every step is new, and we had to find solutions to overcome the challenges. Innovation ideas come from all around. It’s a matter of just connecting things and all over sudden you create a new product. Freelite was a combination off different ideas with the desire to push the limits on motion and stretchability. To achieve something you must be willing to take small steps, and then you can reach great goals. As a skier you working with one main thing and that’s being able to move freely You need to remove all restrictions and with Freelite we found a solution for Freedom of Movement.
