20 million trees! There is a fundraiser
going on right now. It is TeamTrees.org. Mr. Beast, other Youtubers organized this
entire thing with the Arbor Day Foundation.
Basically $1 for a tree. Seems like a great opportunity to invest into the
planet. As for me with my photography I definitely really really enjoyed going
out to my local state park, local parks. Enjoying the trees and benefiting from
them with my photography. Just recently a few days ago I was out at my state park
just walking around. All I had was my cell phone. So I pulled it out. Did a vlog
style video. Taking photos with it. Talking about photography and using a
phone for that it. Seems like a great opportunity to put that in here with
this video. So check that out! Hey, this is Scott of Photography Banzai. I’m here at Rock Cut
with just the phone today. I wanted to walk around while I was out. And see if
there’s anything interesting to photograph. Sounds like some birds
around. This is super nice. I wish I had an app that could record the front and
back. I noticed on the Apple phones… They have apps now that can do that. Both at the same time. That would be super nice for videos like this. So I’m gonna try to take
some photos! zoom in… Super nice! The colors are getting good. Decided to switch the fingerless gloves. A little easier with photography with
phones. There are a few things around. It’s a lot of berries. See if I can get it to show up. Using the Open Camera application. Should
actually looked at his code at some point. See if there’s anything I could do
with it. I don’t even know what it’s written in. I assume Java, but who knows.
I’m guessing that being able to run the front camera and the back cameras at the
same time might require some extra hardware in the phone. Which it seems
like some of the Android phones… phoinsss At least had that capability at one
point or another. I am seeing some nice photo ops around here. Let’s try to get
some pictures… Probably one of the better ways to make
an interesting photo with a simple smartphone lens camera is to get closer.
So in this case get closer. Start to add some interest to the photo. So this is
actually nice though! Shooting up into trees is always a nice photo-op, especially
this time of year. So if you do want background blur in
your cellphone photos that don’t have any special processing. In this case this
is an older phone. What you want to do is just focus closer. And then as I mentioned before, shooting below… The nice thing about phones is that there are
different apps. They have different capabilities. And depending on if
something is available you have some features that you might not have. On a…
just a regular camera, which opens up a lot of possibilities with the phones.
Especially anything that’s kind of helpful to be automated. Like taking multiple photos at once. Taking them in succession. Changing the focus
point automatically. Things like that where it’s not difficult technically, but
there’s just some logic behind it. That’s really good for phones. There’s some nice
trees here. Alright, I’ll be curious to see if I got anything out of this.
I turned back. See that little bit of color in the brown and greens. See if I
even make something out of that. One of the challenges with phones… Especially older phones, cheaper phones. Shake can be introduced so easily. Trying to use both
hands. Trying to get it closer to you in those situations can help out. That’s actually getting a little bit of lens flare on that. So that was interesting!
Definitely good to take your phone out. Try to do some photography. See what you
can do with it. Maybe try different apps when you’re able to. Just don’t use the
really janky questionable ones… Use ones that are from legitimate companies. Anyways, that was (a) nice walk. I hope you enjoyed that vlog with photography at the beautiful State Park. Really nice set up with just going out there. Walking
around. Using what you have. And also please consider donating to that cause.
It seems like a great effort. Definitely by 2020 hopefully they will make it. And (I) wanted to make a video and contribute as I could. So again, in the description you’ve
got the link to donate. Anyways, I’m Scott from Photography Banzai. Thanks!
